So why was I not told there was a new anime about a catgirl with a sword!?! In fact, season two has already been announced for “Reincarnated as a Sword”. It looks like the anime was picked up by HIDIVE who also picked up the Strike Witches spinoff “Luminous Witches”. They know how to build a platform but need to promote it better. How can you pick up kemonomimi anime like this and not shout it from the rooftop?
“Reincarnated as a Sword” does sound interesting. While avoiding spoilers I read the synopsis from a few sites. It starts off like most isekai with someone dying and coming back to another world. What makes this story different is the reason we are all here. Instead of being reincarnated as a human or monster, this person comes back as a sword. A catgirl named Fran uses this sword to free herself from a life of slavery and names the sword Shishou. Shishou can communicate with her via telepathy and the two decide to work together. I find this partnership truly interesting and have added this show to my watch list. Well played HIDIVE…
