Do you remember that Arknights anime from last year? You know, Prelude to Dawn. The one I kept saying I was going to finish… Well, I still haven’t… That said a prequel is coming out under the name Perish in Frost. So yeah, now I really need to catch up!
One of the reasons I am interested in Arknights is that it has a dark and serious tone. You do not get that often with kemonomimi anime. Variety is the spice of life and I love to see anime that take animal-eared characters in different directions. Many people only see catgirls and the like as a form of fanservice. I have no problem with fanservice but sometimes it is nice to have an anime you can recommend to your friends, who are not, that still has catgirls in it. Alongside Shield Hero, Arknights looks to scratch that itch this fall. So… I better get back to watching season one!
