Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf comes out in two days! How are you getting prepared? I’m not doing anything too special… just building a shine to Holo the Wise Wolf! Nothing out of the normal here! If you could not tell I am very excited for this anime!
Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf is a remake of the original Spice and Wolf anime. Both are based on a light novel by Isuna Hasekura. The story follows a traveling merchant named Kraft Lawrence who discovers a wolf girl sleeping in the back of his cart. It turns out she is the local goddess of the harvest Holo. The local village has started to move on from their belief in Folklore leaving Holo behind. This causes Holo to want to return to her old home in the north. Kraft decides to travel with Holo and along the way his street smarts mix with her wisdom to get them both in and out of some sticky situations.
Unlike many fantasy stories Spice and Wolf focuses on economics and trade. There are constant battles of the witts between Kraft, Holo, and others. I highly recommend the original anime and can not wait to see this new version. The original anime only had two seasons. Hopefully, this anime will cover the rest of the novels!
