Welcome to Catgirl Week the yearly celebration of catgirls and other kemonomimi. If you happen to stumble upon this blog post Cat[girl]urday is a personal blog feature that has been running longer than the Confederacy lasted. How much longer? 3.75 times longer… So by now, you have to be asking yourself, “Why don’t we build statues of catgirls?”. Not only that but there should be nearly four times more catgirl monuments built than Confederate monuments. Sadly for now you will have to settle for these blog posts…
The first Cat[girl]urday was posted on July 28, 2007 back on what used to be the IGN Blogs. During this era, the feature was mainly a way to make regular blog posts in the IGN community. It became one of the community’s most well-known and longest-running features. Although Cat[girl]urday is not well known to the internet at large I always believe nothing is special until you make it special. It has now outlasted the IGN blogs, MyIGN, the war in Iraq, the war in Afghanistan, and a global pandemic. With that in mind, there will be themed Cat[girl]urday posts all this week. Come back tomorrow for the history of Cat[girl]urday!
