Cat[girl]urday: Robot Catgirls are a Musk

Due to my love of Nekomimis I have decided to post something catgirl related each week! It maybe cute. It maybe sexy. It may even be a bit disturbing…

Elon Musk’s recent tweet about robot catgirls got me thinking. What are robot catgirls like? Although the Puma Sisters from Masamune Shirow’s Dominion series were the first to come to mind they are not my ideal robot catgirl. After a little bit of imageboard searching, I remembered Atsuko Natsume. She is better known as “All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku”.

All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku is a manga by Yuzo Takada. It was about a scientist named Kyusaku Natsume who leaves his job at an evil military company known as Mishima Industries. He takes his son Ryunosuke Natsume and an experimental android body with him. When his son befriends a dying cat Kyusaku puts her brain in the android’s body and Atsuko Natsume is born! Life is not easy for Atsuko as Kyusaku is also divorcing his wife Akiko who is the CEO of Mishima Industries. This puts her and Ryunosuke in the middle of the craziest custody battle in history!

Doing the research for today’s post took me back to simpler times. Anime from the 80s and 90s seemed so out there. Nuku Nuku was short but funny and different. I doubt many people remember it and it may not have aged well. It still holds a special place in this catgirl fan’s heart. If you have not seen it look it up! There is an OVA, TV series, and a spin-off. That is only 32 episodes in all.

So what do you think?
