We have a trailer for the new Spice and Wolf anime project! It will be coming out in 2024 and will feature returning cast and staff members. This includes the voice of Kraft Lawrence, Jun Fukuyama, and the voice of Holo, Ami Koshimizu. The title of the new anime is “Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf”. Both this title and the trailer hint that this project might be a remake of the original.
TV animated series “Spice and Wolf” will be aired in 2024.

As someone who backed the Spice and Wolf VR game on Kickstart, I am excited about this new anime. The original holds a special place in my heart for its clever writing. It is not often that a fantasy story focuses on the economic side of a fictional world. This may be boring for some people but it also creates many opportunities for battles of wits.
For those who do not know the story is about a traveling merchant named Kraft Lawrence who finds a naked girl hiding in his cart. She turns out to be a harvest goddess named Holo. She makes a deal with Kraft to help her travel north to her old home. Along the way, they combine Kraft’s modern street smarts with Holo’s wisdom to make deals and survive the dangers of traveling in medieval times. If you are into mind games and people outsmarting each other check out Spice and Wolf. The story was originally told in a light novel and has been adapted into both a manga and anime.
Let’s also hope that Brina Palencia will reprise her role in the English dub!
