I watched Kakegurui Twin this week and found it a worthwhile spin-off. The story focuses on Mary Saotome’s first year at Hyakkaou Private Academy. For those who have not seen the main series your ability to gamble is far more important than anything else at this school. Mary quickly makes waves and gathers the attention of warring factions. Not being from a rich or famous family, she has to rely on old and new friends to even the score. Sadly there are only six episodes. Although this spin-off is not as deep as the original each episode is well-paced and has a new high-stakes game to get the heart pumping. This is a must-watch for Mary fans, highly recommended for Kakegurui fans, and still a good starting point for newcomers. That said I would recommend watching Kakegurui first.
