Spice and Wolf fans rejoice! This past Monday, the official website for the franchise announced that the next season of MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF will air in 2027! Long-time readers of this blog will know that I am a huge fan of Spice and Wolf. Not only did I help fund the Kickstarter for the VR game, but my name is also in the credits!
The key visual released with the announcement features Holo, Kraft, and a mysterious cloaked figure. For those who watched season two of the original anime, this person may look familiar… The first season of this remake covered more stories from the novels than its predecessor, and I can only hope this season continues that trend. More importantly, I hope it eventually covers the rest of the story.
To my fellow Spice and Wolf fans, 2027 is just around the corner. Hopefully, we will not have to wait too long for this incredible remake to bring us back onto the road with a traveling merchant and his wise wolf companion. Most of you probably already know how this story ends, but that doesn’t mean you don’t want to go along with Holo and Kraft for the journey.
2027 cannot come soon enough!
