Nintendo has finally announced a new Star Fox game, and even though it is a remake I am excited! Star Fox 64 was one of my favorite games growing up. Playing the demo at a Blockbuster kiosk helped sell me on the Nintendo 64. I can still remember feeling the vibrations from the Rumble Pak and thinking it was one of the coolest things ever!
Above is artwork featuring four of the franchise’s main female characters. This includes Katt Monroe, who first appeared in Star Fox 64 and had a habit of messing with Falco. Next is Krystal, who is probably the most well-known of the group. She first appeared in Star Fox Adventures, where she fought alongside Fox on the surface of Dinosaur Planet.
The next two characters are only seen in Star Fox Command. Lucy Hare is the daughter of veteran pilot Peppy Hare, while Amanda is Slippy Toad’s girlfriend. Sadly, this game is often ignored by fans. In one of the game’s timelines, these four ladies join forces to form their own team.
Krystal and Katt will probably always be remembered, but I hope we get to see more of Lucy and Amanda in the future as well. I doubt they will appear in the remake of Star Fox 64, but hopefully the game does well enough for Nintendo to continue making new Star Fox titles.
As a side note, I could not find the original artist for this artwork. Normally, I avoid posting art that I cannot properly source, but I could not find another image that fits the theme so well. If anyone knows the true origin of this work, please let me know!
