Cat[girl]urday Turns 18!

Posted on

On this day 18 years ago, I wrote the first ever Cat[girl]urday blog post. Back then I did not have my own personal domain or website. I was just a gamer blogging on IGN. That is right, the video game website IGN used to have community blogs. Many of us bloggers hoped to sharpen our skills and become video game journalists. That said… writing blog posts is hard!

At the suggestion of a blogger who went by AlloyNES, many bloggers started features. These features were supposed to be themed blogs posted on a regular basis. I tried several, including Objection, Overheard, and Cat[girl]urday. Cat[girl]urday had a simple start. I would post an image of a catgirl every Saturday and ask other bloggers what they thought. Over time it grew and helped bring anime blogging to IGN. Sadly my days on IGN were numbered…

In about 2017, IGN decided to shutdown their blogs. This almost left Cat[girl]urday without a home. Thankfully, seeing the writing on the wall, I started a back up blog on Blogger. Later, with the help of a former boss, I learned how to register a domain and start my own website. Like the IGN blogs before, there was only one type of content I could post consistently. Of course, I’m talking about catgirls!

Over the past 18 years I have posted something catgirl related every Saturday. That is a trend I plan to continue. Some may think it is cute, others creepy, and some even sexy. At the end of the day none of those things matter. It is about the love of catgirls and sharing them with the world. Thank you for visiting my blog! Please enjoy catgirl week!
