I finally got around to watching Kemono Michi and it is a must-watch! It stars a pro wrestler named Genzo Shibata who gets isekai’d to a world divided between humans and monsters. Genzo is a man after my own heart who loves kemonomimi and instantly falls in love with the monsters of this world. He dreamed of starting a pet shop after retiring from pro wrestling. Being in this world does not change his plans but instead accelerates them.
Genzo teams up with a wolf girl named Shigure who has a knack for finances. For a moment you might think this would end up like Spice and Wolf. You would be wrong. It is hard to compare Kemono Michi with anything else. If I had to try it is like a freakish love child of WWE, Konosuba, and Spice and Wolf. Despite Shigure’s best efforts, Genzo and their other companions always find ways to spend more than they make. Lucky for Shigure she always finds a sword someone “dropped” that she can sell… She is not Holo but she is a wise wolf!
