The year is finally coming to an end, and New Year’s is just around the corner. In the US, this means traditions like New Year’s Resolutions and watching the ball drop at midnight. In Japan, they have traditions like the big clean and shrine visits. I don’t know about you, but when I think about shrines and cleaning, I think of the helpful fox Senko-san!
Senko-san is an 800-year-old fox demi-god who comes to the aid of a Japanese salaryman named Nakano. His family has been good to her, so she returns the favor by taking care of him like he is family. It is a sweet, heart-warming tale that also involves a fluffy tail! If you are not able to do a big clean this weekend, at least try to be kinder to others in the coming year. A little light helps to keep the darkness away…
So what do you think?
