I’m so behind on My Dress-Up Darling! No spoilers, please! That said, I recently came across an insert art from volume 14 of the manga that reminded me why I love this series so much. In it, Marin Kitagawa is dressed to the nines,as always. Her passion for cosplay is not only inspiring, but it’s also the spark that ignites her friendship with Wakana Gojo. His expert craftsmanship helps bring Marin’s wildest cosplay dreams to life.
This series is a brilliant example of art imitating life. Despite the quirky name, cosplay culture is at the heart of My Dress-Up Darling. You get to witness the challenges Marin and Gojo face while creating cosplay, and you also get a glimpse into the world of conventions and working with photographers. That last part really resonates with me,cosplay photography is something I might know a little bit about!
This is an anime made by fans, for fans, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it!
So what do you think?
