Due to my love of Nekomimis I have decided to post something catgirl related each week! It maybe cute. It maybe sexy. It may even be a bit disturbing…

Right after Cat[girl]urday went live last week, we had another birthday! The original Vocaloid Miku Hatsune [Hatsune Miku to tryhards] turned 18 on August 31! To celebrate, I looked up some official art of Miku as a catgirl and found this amazing piece of history. Not only does it feature Hatsune as a catgirl, but it is also an illustration for an amazing vinyl release!

This illustration by Rella was created for the vinyl release of Isao Tomita’s Symphony Ihatov, one of the late composer’s greatest works. It features Miku Hatsune as both a soloist and in multiple choirs. The release marked the 5th anniversary of Tomita’s death. Despite being a virtual idol, Hatsune Miku still got to be a part of paying tribute to Isao Tomita’s work. After 18 years, she has been so much more than just a Vocaloid. Thank you, and happy birthday, Hatsune Miku!
