Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf is an amazing remake of the original anime. For a fan like me, it is incredible to revisit the journey of Holo and Kraft Lawrence. With that said, however, it has been a little too fateful of a remake. It has done little to expand on the story we already know. Thankfully, that is about to change
On August 19 the next story arc for Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf will cover a volume of the light novel the original anime skipped. According to Screen Rant, the arc is called “Legend of the Pagan Gods” and takes place in the village of Tereo. While searching for the whereabouts of Holo’s native home Yoitsu, Kraft, and her run into Elsa Schtingheim and Gyoam Evan. This chance encounter leads them to try and save Tereo from financial ruin.
During this arc, we will learn more about Holo and her past. This is also a sign that Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf will cover the entire story of Spice and Wolf! Back in the first episode of the series, it is hinted that a certain someone is telling this story to her daughter… That also hints that they plan on finishing Kraft and Holo’s story this time! I am looking forward to this next story arc and hopefully, many more to come!
