Juneteenth is just a few days away and I wanted to celebrate early with some catgirl-based representation! We are returning to the archives to remind everyone of one of the greatest catgirls of all time, Aisha Clanclan from Outlaw Star! This Ctarl-Ctarl was once an officer of the Ctarl-Ctarl Empire. Although she eventually gave it all up to join the crew of the Outlaw Star. Do not take her lightly, however, as she is instantly strong. That is even before she transforms into a real beast!
Despite wanting to rewatch Outlaw Star I also want to talk about how Aisha is popular among black anime fans. She is one of the few anime characters we can see ourselves in. Not only that, she is also a strong and independent catgirl. It is no wonder that she has withstood the test of time and has been a good choice for African American cosplayers. Aisha Clanclan is one of the reasons I love catgirls! She even predates Yoruichi and Mirko!
