I needed a new anime to watch while exercising, and since I recently finished Hunter x Hunter, I decided to revisit Yu Yu Hakusho. I originally watched it back when it aired on Toonami but never finished it. Just within the first two episodes, I was hit hard with nostalgia. Like Hunter x Hunter, Yu Yu Hakusho is a timeless classic, and I’m happy I came back to it.
Of course, we wouldn’t be here if there was nothing catgirl-related. During the Dark Tournament arc, we get to meet Koto and Juri. Koto is the kemonomimi who served as the referee of the tournament. For reasons, she switches to a commentator role, and the sea creature demon Juri takes her place. I cannot wait to re-watch this arc! Tournaments in Shonen anime can be boring, but these two keep things interesting. Personally, I loved the bloodthirsty version of Koto from the English dub. To me, she outshined Juri’s sexier bodysuit. If you watched Yu Yu Hakusho, who was your favorite?
